Osgood Hill
Signs, signs, signs, all kinds of signs. A hike up Osgood Hill is full of signs. Arboretum-like signs labeled many of the common tree species and some of the shrubs.
There were signs that a pileated woodpecker inhabits these woods.
There were ample signs that early New England settlers farmed here and encountered our amazingly rocky soil.
All signs led to the view from the top of the hill.
The first sign I encounter is upside down. |
Ironwood Tree |
This tree grew another trunk since that sign was affixed. |

Very recently judging by these fresh wood chips. |
Stone wall near the lake |
A pile of stones where a stone wall used to be |
